We just received a fresh crop of Eastman acoustics and electrics, new Taylors (including their new larger Grand Orchestra body shape as on this 1st Ed. 918e), and of course Leo Posch Guitars – check out the article in our newsletter for more info on these spectacular, locally made guitars. We also have two of the extremely cool Grosh Retro Classic Hollow T Standards (Butterscotch and Mary Kay White) in stock. Tungsten Amps are back in the house any day, and to cap off our month beautifully, we just received a fresh batch of our 60 Cycle Buzz Coffee this week – it’s delish and suitable for all players.
We’ve been busy rearranging the store in anticipation of our 30th Anniversary remodel – but we have to make some more room, so we’re having a store wide sale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday February 21, 22 &23! We’ll let you know more as the time approaches, but suffice it to say that you will find real bargains at every turn.
Events – we’re very pleased to let you know bluesman and exceptional finger picker Paul Geremia will be performing at Mass St Music on Sunday, March 10. We’ll open the store an hour early at 2pm that day. Our friends at Americana Music Academy have a show this month – the very talented sister duo of Scenic Roots, on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Americana – 1419 Mass St. in Lawrence. Admission is by donation. Get yourself right in the thick of things though before the show, with a workshop from Scenic Roots on Fiddle (1:30pm), Mountain Dulcimer (also at 1:30) or jamming together for All Instruments (at 3pm) – these special workshops are $20 for one, or two for $35. Also we’re happy to have donated to the Lawrence SOUTH X SOUTHWEST FEST – a fundraiser happening at the Jackpot Saloon on Feb. 22 & 23 to help Lawrence bands get to the famed Austin, TX music festival. Radkey, Approach, the Hips, Up the Academy, the ACBs and more will be playing so come out and help Lawrence represent in Austin. Here is more info on the event from the great iheartlocalmusic blog, including videos of some of Lawrence’s finest. We’ll see you there.
Last but not least if you haven’t picked up the latest copy of Fretboard Journal, you sure ought to – Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, Fred Frith, Loudon Wainwright III and some of the greatest guitar eye candy you’ll ever come across. We still have a copies of the this issue here at the store and should be getting the next as well. (Looking for the Mass St Music Newsletter for Feb? It’s right here.)
