Whether you’re seasoned strummer or a novice picker, everyone can benefit from playing music with others, or just by taking a couple of lessons to get you started in the right direction, get you over that hump, or get a new spark.  Thankfully in the midwest region, where Mass Street Music is located, you can’t turn around without meeting a musician. So we hope you’ll join with us this year in our resolution to play more, and better. We’ve listed some great jams and open mics below that are in the Lawrence/Kansas City area – there are blues jams, bluegrass and roots jams, singer/songwriter and many more. If you’re outside of the midwest, be sure to check out www.folkjam.org and look up jam sessions your neck of the woods. If you’re needing a leg up with a lesson or few, check out our buddies at Americana Music Academy, listed below, or stop by Mass St Music  and get a lesson package with the renowned teachers Michael Hamm or Bill Crahan.
