A very cool 90 year old gentleman stopped by Mass St Music yesterday to have Jim take a look at his vintage ’62 Fender Strat and his ’48 Martin. He bought the Martin not long after his WWII service, where he was in the Battle of the Bulge. His wife purchased the ’62 Strat barely used, back in ’62 or ’63 as a gift for him. Both instruments were in nice shape still, as was the gentleman, who was pleasantly surprised by Jim’s assessment of the guitars’ value. He still plays the strat all the time with a few friends he jams with and shows no signs of slowing down yet. Our repair shop cleaned up the pots on the strat and it’s good to go yet again.
