3 Great Workshops Coming Up!

We have three very cool workshops coming up – and one is even free! Check ’em out:

Free!  GET RHYTHM! – Rhythm Guitar Workshop with Bill Crahan – THIS SATURDAY, Sept. 25 – 9am

Join Bill Crahan in exploring the art of playing rhythm guitar. In this workshop we will examine common strumming patterns in various time signatures, as well as how to play backup for flat picking, folk, Irish, as well as an intro to playing jazz chords for swing.


ESSENTIAL UKE STRUMS & TRICKS WORKSHOP with Lil Rev! – Saturday, Oct. 16, 2-3:30 pm

Mass Street Music is very excited to partner with Americana Music Academy in bringing the great Lil Rev to visit Mass St Music on Saturday, Oct. 16 for this fun and informative uke workshop, suitable for all levels of uke players from beginners to the experienced. Bring your uke (Soprano, Tenor or Concert size) if you like. We will also have some available to use as well. Workshop begins at 2:00 pm and lasts one and a half hours. Tickets are $20. NOTE: Lil Rev will also be doing a concert that night at Americana Music Academy at 7:30 pm! The award-winning Wisconsin Troubadour Lil Rev, will be performing on Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele and Harmonica, playing Blues, Jazz, Old Time, Originals and more! FLATPICK GUITAR WORKSHOP with Tim May & Dan Miller – Sunday, Oct. 17 –  2:00-4:00 pm

Tim May and Dan Miller, co-authors of the popular eight volume Flatpicking Essentials Guitar Course, will conduct a two-hour all-level flatpicking guitar workshop that will cover a wide range of flatpicking guitar topics and answer any and all participant’s specific questions. The focus of instruction will involve how to use efficient left and right hand technique to increase speed, improve note clarity and fluidity, and develop good tone. Other topics discussed will include opening up and exploring the entire range of the guitar fretboard and an introduction to improvisation for students of all levels. Tickets are $40 and are available at the door on the day of the workshop.
