Seriously ironic and seriously cool. Check out the sale of punk and rock memorabilia at Christie’s – the famed auction house. Everything from Kurt Cobain’s very first guitar and tons of Ramones gear, to the Vox Continental organ John Lennon played at Shea Stadium and on the Ed Sullivan show in 1965, all the way back to a ring and a set list from Elvis Presley is here. Of course the prices are outrageous, but what a treasure trove. Here’s a nice NPR article on the sale that includes an interview with Christie’s Pop Culture Director.
