A Blast from the Past!

We’ve happily come in to a boatload of vintage Guitar Player magazines from the 70s, 80s and 90s and are offering them for sale at the store at $1 per. Pictured here are just a few…Keith Richards looking red-eyed as ever yet less corpse-like than today,

A mere drop in the bucket of our bucket 'o vintage mags

A mere drop in the bucket

Pete Townsend with no facial hair, Richie Blackmore before he donned the Renaissance attire and Todd “Hello, It’s Me” Rundgren from 1977 – this issue also features an article on REO SPeedwagon’s Gary Richrath. Sweet. I already grabbed the 1983 Women in Rock issue and the one with Night Ranger on the cover (it has a great article on Alejandro Escovedo’s early band Rank & File), but there are plenty of treasures left. They’re here in the store, one buck a pop. Also a couple interesting early issues of Frets magazine.

This makes me so proud of America and Rock music and the whole periodical industry. Doesn’t that guy in are the far right magazine work for you? Upstairs? Also, how does one exactly come into a boatload of such fine treasures?

That’s right. Todd Rundgren sells acoustic guitars, mandos and banjos upstairs at Mass Street, only he’s incognito so we call him ‘Eric’. This particular boatload of mags came by way of one person’s collection. Pretty sweet.
