The best candidate is….

In light of the up coming election we at Mass Street Music are running our own gear election. This year’s election features two candidates facing off, the Martin LX1 and the Baby TaylorBoth candidates have a lot to offer despite their small appearance, and are running on platforms of good tone in a small package. Both candidates poll well among children, and people with small hands who are looking for a compact guitar. Specifically, Baby Taylor is promising to bring “changed strings” to Mass Street, while LX1 is promising to put “Store First.”

While the Martin LX1 has done well in internal store polling, the Baby Taylor received a boost from our recent Taylor Road Show. The LX1 still holds a slight lead 48% to 45%, although that margin is narrowing as election day draws closer.

In recent days Martin LX1 has accused Baby Taylor of sounding thin, while Baby Taylor has responded by accusing LX1 of using uncoated strings and associating with questionable, “used” instruments. LX1 responded by saying that uncoated strings sounded better and that Baby Taylor was acting, well, like a baby – and running a dirty campaign.

Both candidates have been criticized for their choice of running mates. Rather than choosing a young fresh running mate, Baby Taylor choose a Taylor 710ce, a reputable Mass Street Music insider. LX1 on the other hand has been criticized for his choice of a Pink Hello Kitty guitar. While Hello Kitty is a nice shade of pink, most Mass Street insiders don’t believe she has the experience to be “one heart beat away from guitar presidency.” Stay tuned for further developments.
